The SmartShoulder concept incorporates wearable sensors, has autonomous lighting, detects if the wearer is in a man-down situation and makes emergency calls. It’s currently under development by Teijin in cooperation with HAVEP and Elitac.
In the previous project phase, a SmartShoulder prototype was tested with mechanics and technicians. The partners will now investigate the compatibility with current safety regulations for industrial protective wear and electronics.
